Bellingham Public Schools acknowledges organizations’ desire to use district/school communication channels to share information about their organization, service, camp, class or event that may have social, recreational or educational value for students.
The superintendent will develop procedures that balance this need and manages the large volume of requests Bellingham Public Schools receives every week from all varieties of organizations, groups and businesses that want to send their promotional, marketing and community service information home with students, via flyers, email or newsletters to staff/families, and to post in schools or on school property via signage, reader boards, posters, banners or bulletin boards. The procedures will prevent the exploitation of students for marketing/advertising purposes by individuals and groups; minimize the use of staff time and district resources for this purpose; and honor requests from families to limit non-school/district/PTA material that is e-mailed, sent home or displayed
